More than 8,000 documents for Albania return from the US archives

Albanian General Directorate of Archives (DPA) announced that over 8,000 documents on Albania and Albanians have been returned.

This set of documents obtained from the US archives, together with two newspaper columns, including “Albania” founded by the “walking encyclopedia”, Faik Konica, are now part of the Central State Archives (AQSH), through an act of donation made by the researcher Artan Hoxha.

“As the precedent of the acts of donation has proven, the documentary and photographic materials received by the DPA have served to enrich the funds, providing impetus for the launch of new researches. We remember the donation of the personal archive of the poet Lasgush Poradeci (2017) and of the political activity Rauf Fico (2018),” said the Head of the DPA, Ardit Bido.

Many manuscripts of Musine Kokalari are also housed in the AQSH, in fulfillment of her will that a part of the manuscripts be handed over to the State Archive.
