Tourism, Culture and Sports Minister Blendi Gonxhja announced that Albania has added the Osman Taka Dance to its National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. He described the dance as a distinctive expression of Albanian culture and a symbol of Cham identity.

The dance draws on the story of the legendary Osman Taka of Konispol. Its powerful and elegant movements express courage, sacrifice, solidarity and a free spirit. Gonxhja said the listing will help preserve the tradition and pass it on to future generations.
