Albania plans to allocate ALL 76.7 billion to the Ministry of Defence in 2027, including ALL 7 billion in additional funding. The allocation will bring defence spending to 2.35% of gross domestic product, reflecting Albania’s commitments as a NATO member.

Presenting the 2027 draft budget at the Conference of Chairpersons, Finance Minister Petrit Malaj said the funding would support the modernisation of the Armed Forces and fulfilment of Albania’s commitments to the alliance.

He added that the investments aimed to strengthen the country’s defence capabilities and support its role within NATO.
