Egnatia beat Teuta 1–0 on Wednesday to finish the first phase of Albania’s Superliga at the top of the table.

The reigning champions controlled much of the game and created several chances, but neither side scored in the first half.

Egnatia broke the deadlock in the 68th minute. Adjessa finished a well-worked move after combining with Gruda to give his team the lead.

The Rrogozhina side came close to scoring again through Albanese, but Teuta goalkeeper Bernardoni made the save.

The match also brought an injury setback for Egnatia. Defender Eljon Sota suffered a serious injury in the 48th minute and left the pitch on a stretcher.

The victory lifted Egnatia to 21 points, moving them ahead of Teuta, who remain on 20 points. The result also handed Teuta their first defeat of the season.
