The Institute of History at Academy of Albanology Studies organized the presentation of the complete special edition of the “History of Albanians during the 20th century” in five volumes. The publication is the scientific product of a large number of researchers of history, philosophy, literature, law and social issues.

The activity was attended by researchers from the Albanian Institute of History, the institutes at the Academy of Albanian Studies, lecturers from the University of Tirana, scientific collaborators and experts in the field.

On behalf of the Institute of History, the director, Prof. Afrim Krasniqi, as well as the scientific director of the publication, prof. Beqir Meta made the presentations.

During the activity, the innovations of the new edition were evaluated. The clear separation with the historiography of the communist period dominated by propaganda and myths, the quality of the research and the issues included in the treatment, the contribution of the authors and the implementing staff, the vital need for greater institutional respect of the state towards Albanianology, guaranteeing the constitutional principle of academic freedom and freedom of scientific research, as well as for open, alternative and professional debate on theses and arguments, based on the best research standards and archival documents were also appreciated during the meeting. As a sign of gratitude, certificates of commitment were distributed to the authors.

The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, did also attend the meeting.
