Reconstruction work continues on the Lead Mosque in Shkodër, among the 50 most beautiful ones in the world

The Lead Mosque in Shkodër is one of the most important cult objects not only in Albania, but also in the Balkans.
Currently, it is undergoing a complete reconstruction, which also aims at flood protection.
Prime Minister Edi Rama shared on social networks some fragments from the Lead Mosque in Shkodër, showing the works to revive this cultural monument of the first category, named as one of the 50 most beautiful in the world.
The Lead Mosque was built in 1773-1774 by Mehmet Pashë Bushatliu.
It was declared a Monument of Culture in 1973 and is the only mosque left in this area from the Ottoman period.
The last intervention in this mosque was made in 1865, after the great flood of Shkodër.
