The Museum of Iconography “Onufri” narrates through an audio guide system its masterpieces in four languages: Albanian, English, Italian and German.

“Onufri” is the first museum that has applied technology in the discovery of national cultural treasures thanks to the direct care of the Ministry of Culture.

With a symbolic payment, the visit to this museum adds more value through the discovery of the exceptional heritage assets of the “Onufri” Museum.

The museum’s collection consists of 200 objects selected from the funds of churches and monasteries in the district of Berat. It consists mainly of icons and a group of liturgical objects. The works of this museum date from the oldest of the 14th century to the beginning of the 20th century.

One of the best works created by Albanian craftsmen, such as the cathedral’s iconostasis of the Dormition of Saint Mary (1807) is located in this museum, together with the purple codices, protected by UNESCO.
