The eagerly awaited second edition of the Tirana International Contemporary Dance Festival (ICDF) is scheduled to be held from September 27 to October 21, 2023, in Tirana.

The creation of the International Contemporary Dance Festival of Tirana (ICDF) was made possible thanks to Angjelin Proljocaj and aims to establish Tirana as one of the European dance capitals in the next five years.

The inaugural edition of the festival occurred from October 28 to November 4, 2022. This year’s festival is set to commence on September 27 with the performance ‘Gravity’ by Angjelin Preljocaj. Mr. Preljocaj will be present at the National Theater of Opera, Ballet, and Folk Ensemble for the festival’s grand premiere.

Among the participating dance companies, attendees will have the pleasure of witnessing the talents of companies like ‘La Veronal,’ choreographed by Marcos Morau, the renowned Italian dance company ‘Aterballetto,’ as well as a piece by the Albanian choreographer Blenard Azizaj.

Under the artistic direction of the internationally acclaimed Franco-Albanian choreographer Angelin Preljocaj, Harabel Contemporary and D18 Paris in collaboration with the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet and the support of the Albanian Ministry of Culture are organizing the second edition of the festival, that proudly presents these incredible performances such as Ballet Preljocaj with “Gravity”, La Veronal with “Sonoma”, choreography by Marcos Morau, Aterballetto with “Stravaganze in Sol Minor”, choreography by Francesca Lattuada (show for children) and Blenard Azizaj’s choreography “The Dawn of Time” with the dancers of the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet.
