Bashtova Festival to be held on Sept. 8-9, exploring the rich culture of Kavaja and Rrogozhina

Bashtova Festival organized by the EU4Culture project, financed by the European Union Mission in Albania, will take place in Bashtova Castle for two days in succession.
“Let’s celebrate the magic of Bashtova Castle together”, says the announcement of EU4Culture, on social networks, where it is announced that the party will take place today and tomorrow, September 8-9, from 18:00 to 23:00.
The Bashtova Festival explores the rich culture of Kavaja and Rrogozhina through performances by Albanian and international artists, outdoor adventures, and a fair of local artisans and products.
Bashtova Castle is located about 2 km from the village of Vilë-Bashtovë near the river Shkumbin. It has been a center of grain trade until the late 15th century; the time when the cereal commencing passed from Ragusians hand to the Venetians. At that time, except the trade of cereals, Venetians were interested to hold in their hands the fortified strategic points along the Adriatic coast, to control a very large area of the Adriatic in the west and simultaneously, the plain in the east.
