Orwell’s Animal Farm will come this weekend, at the Amphitheater of Durrës, directed by Driada Dervish, in the interpretation of some of the most famous actors in the country like Neritan Liçaj, Hervin Çuli, Erjona Kakeli, Florian Agalliu, Anila Bisha, and others.

Spectators will see a Revolution on the Man Farm. The animals rise up against the human owner and take control of the farm. But someone has to take the farm manager’s place, and everyone agrees that the smartest farm animals should take it: Pigs. Napoleon is the pig who becomes the main leader of the farm, initially with enthusiastic tones of brotherhood and equality, he convinces them that the road to a free future is near, where everyone will work only for themselves, away from human greed. Before long, the promised principles turn into strings that bind the animals once more.

Although “Animal Farm” originally symbolized the Soviet Union under the leadership of the Communist Party, it represents any totalitarian society, which remains for more than seventy years a satire of the idealization of equality that is corrupted by power.

This activity is one of the stations of the summer season “KultArt” 2023, organized by the Albanian Ministry of Culture, which brings art and culture to where the public is.
