The Albanian Grandmothers’ Festival starts this evening in the center of Përmet. This special celebration is entirely dedicated to grandmothers. The festival will gather for the fourth year in row grandmothers from all over Albania.

A very special meeting of generations, under the motto “Respect – love – re-inheritance”. The activity aims to promote mainly Albanian national culture and traditions, transmission from generation to generation, as well as the growth of attention to the third age, engaging them in social, ethno cultural and intertwined with different traditional activities. The festival is perceived like a big party with participation of Albanian grandmothers and a wider public.

Many artists accompanied with their grandmothers, traditional music from the area (Sazet e Përmet), singers Liljana Kondakçi, Kozma Dushi, Eranda Libohova, Parodist of Vlora will perform on the big stage today. At 22:30 o’clock, the party continues on the second stage across the river Vjosa. Also, an after party will be held at Lapidar party until midnight with DJ Miss Rose. At the festival fair, grandma’s products will be on sale and a prize will g to one of the grandmothers participating in the competition. Every night different gifts will be given, while on Sunday a car will draw.

The event expects to gather a large number of visitors in Përmet, during the celebration that will continue for three consecutive days and nights.
