Verdi’s Aida was successfully held in Varna, Bulgaria. The opera, directed by Franco Zeffirelli, was magically delivered to a wide audience of art lovers. Aida was directed by maestro Jaccopo Sipari di Pescasseroli and assistant director Ada Gurra.
The performance of the mezzo-soprano of the National Opera and Ballet House, Ivana Hoxha, who made her vocal debut in Varna, a worthy Amneris, for such a magnificent work, was also amazing.
This was the second success of performing Aida, after the one in Tirana, where the opera was praised with superlatives. The opera Aida was overflowing the Tirana Opera House hall too, with local and foreign spectators. Right after this success, the director Ada Gurra went to Varna to prepare the Bulgarian artists for the staging of Verdi’s opera.
Earlier, Tirana Opera House stated that cooperation that exceeds the borders of the region strengthens the artistic ties between the two countries and enables artists to pass on their talent in a wider artistic dimension.
