‘Meet My Father’ on the stage of the ancient amphitheater in Durrës

After a great success in Durrës, Elbasan, Fier, Berat and Tirana, the comedy “Meet my Father” by master of English comedy, Alan Ayckbourn, winner of the “Tony Award” in 2010 and the “Laurence Olivier Award” in 2009, returns to the annual summer meeting, in the arena of the ancient amphitheater of Durrës. “Meet my Father” is played by Gentian Zenelaj, Suela Bako, Ervin Doko and Alesia Xhemalaj.
This English comedy continues to be played on the stages of the world’s most important theaters, since its success in 1965.
On the stage of the ancient amphitheater, the play is directed by Adelina Muça, while stage design is made by Marçela Llana and costumes by Lira Zahiri.
The comedy is of only two acts and four characters. “Meet my Father” or as it is universally known “Relatively Speaking” is a typical example of ambiguities that are created to keep the audience in suspense and amuse, as a pair of mysterious slippers, a series of strange phone calls, flowers that are not understood where they come from, a suspicious address, an unexpected marriage proposal and a decision to meet the parents.
Comedy writer Alan Ayckbourn was born in London in 1939 and has written more than 70 comedies.
