Dropulli young dancers on the stage of the Folkloric Festival of Gjirokastra

The oral heritage of the ethnic Greek minority living in Dropull occupies a special place in the folklore of Gjirokastra. This minority carries a very rich folklore heritage that is being passed down from generation to generation.
Dropulli folklore includes polyphonic songs skilfully performed by the women of the upper dropulli.
In addition to the groups of women and men, who inherit and sing these verses of Greek folk music over the years at the National Folk Festival, in recent years many young Dropulli dancers have become part of these groups.
On the stage of the Folklore Festival, the minority groups are joined by artists, virtuosos of song and dance who have revealed all the passion of the artistic soul and the values of this folklore, deserving high praise but above all receiving the applause of the public.
