Margariti: “Aida” staging at Opera and Ballet Theater, an extraordinary event

The National Opera and Ballet Theater held a press conference for the staging of the opera “Aida” by Giuseppe Verdi. Present, together with the director Abigeila Voshtina and the conductor Jacopo Sipari di Pescasseroli, was also the Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti. The Minister expressed her gratitude to the entire Opera and Ballet Theater troupe, from the orchestra, choir, soloists, dancers and technical background who are successfully coping with a challenging calendar.
“Every time “Aida” is staged, it is an extraordinary event, not only because it is one of the greatest works of the world operatic repertoire, but also because of the commitment required for the realization of such a work”, Margariti said.
The last time “Aida” was on the Opera and Ballet Theater stage was 2007.
“I am pleased that we have the opportunity to see an opera of this size again, with direction, scenography and costume design by the master Franco Zeffirelli and which requires the commitment of about 200 artists”, said Minister Margariti on social networks.
Giuseppe Verdi’s famous opera comes as a premiere from June 23-27, at the Opera and Ballet Theatre.
