The architecture exhibition “Projects for Tirana” opens

The Italian Institute of Culture in collaboration with the Municipality of Tirana and the Polytechnic University of Milan opened the exhibition “Projects for Tirana”.
The exhibition presents diploma works, dedicated to the Albanian capital, created by students in the master’s laboratory of the AUIC School of Architecture of the Polytechnic of Milan directed by prof. Raffaella Neri.
“Projects for Tirana” will remain open until June 16, 2023, in the lobby of the second floor of the National Theater of Opera and Ballet. The opening ceremony of the exhibition is followed by a round table with Albanian and Italian experts, coordinated by Frida Pashako and including the project managers of the “Stefano Boeri Architetti” Studio. The central theme of the meeting is the main projects and the vision that this studio has for Tirana, with a focus on the evaluation of public spaces and the implementation of the philosophy of urban afforestation.
The Polytechnic University of Milan in collaboration with the Municipality of Tirana has studied several projects for three large areas of the city in the process of new urbanization: the development of the long axis that represents the continuation of the first generator element of the capital, for which two different master plan hypotheses have been developed; the area of the former Aviation field, and the mixed settlement along the shores of Lake Farka, a precious asset of the city.
