“Agimi” Cinema, the newest art space in Tirana inaugurated

“Agimi” Art Center is the newest art space in Tirana. The cinema, among the oldest in Tirana, has been revived thanks to the intervention of the Creative Industry Agency of the Municipality of Tirana and will serve not only for the screening of films, in support of Albanian filmmakers, but will also welcome other cultural activities and events. .
At the opening ceremony of the cinema, the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, expressed his happiness that this new art center is added to the capital and added that, like libraries, cinemas are also turning into multifunctional spaces. He underlined that the new “Agimi” center will be open seven days a week and will also serve for every cultural event in Tirana.
The Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti, said that it will be one of the most regular moviegoers.
“Here we grew up as children, we used to play in the courtyards of the palaces nearby, and I am glad above all that you have brought it to this new formula which is an open door for all those who want to embrace art and culture,” said the minister.
Like the “Agimi” Art Center, the Municipality of Tirana is working on the revitalization of other cinemas, where the next project is the “Max Velo” Cinema, which, after going through the restoration phase, is expected to return to a new art space in the capital.
