“Festival Vetrine” is the activity organized by the Municipality of Tirana on May 23, 24 and 25, within the framework of the project “Theatres for the development of tourism in Europe” (TOURNEE PLUS).

The project (TOURNEE PLUS) is financed by the “Interreg IPA” program for Italy, Albania and Montenegro.

This activity aims at developing a concrete and meaningful exchange between partners and stakeholders, creating possible synergies with other economic sectors, as well as finding effective market solutions to continue maintaining high levels of quality of cultural products.

Within the framework of the “Festival Vetrine” meetings were organized with managers of theater centers, verifying the possibility of exchanging produced shows as well as the possibility of creating new joint productions for different national markets.

The “TOURNEE PLUS” project also included the first network of Albanian Municipal Theaters, consisting of 9 public theaters with the task of promoting co-productions and exchanges at the national and international level. This is an important occasion to support theater and music productions, identifying common growth objectives.

The “TOURNEE PLUS” project aims to create new collaborations between professionals and institutions in the cross-border area, in order to increase tourist flows in Italy, Albania and Montenegro.

In Albania, there are no similar initiatives, but the growing presence of private theater groups and the decreasing availability of public funds for the entertainment sector, are pushing operators to find effective solutions in the market to continue maintaining production levels.

This initiative is therefore seen by partners from all over the Adriatic as an important opportunity to support theater and music production.

The project aims at concrete cooperation between theaters, local public bodies and numerous economic operators related to the tourism sector, supporting them in the joint creation of new services and opportunities to allow citizens and tourists to better enjoy cultural products.
