Fashion Panorama: The Italian New Wave inaugurated the tour of the new generation of Made in Italy talents

An exhibition opened on May 8th at the Center for Openness And Dialogue (COD) of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania, in the presence of Eridana Çano, Director General of the Agency for Dialogue and Governance with the Citizens, Fabrizio Bucci, Italian Ambassador in Tirana, Alessandro Ruggera, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Tirana who spoke with the philosopher Emanuele Coccia and with Francesca Ragazzi, Head of Editorial Content of Vogue Italia.
Francesca Ragazzi and Emanuele Coccia presented the young stylists. “Through non-verbal language, fashion is a living representation of the heterogeneity of our society and can offer meeting points between disciplines, even with the support of institutions, Francesca Ragazzi said, convinced that fashion is the most inclusive”.
Since having to get dressed is an experience common to all, the philosopher Emanuele Coccia proposed to look at fashion as the basis for building our identity. “Making a dress is composing a work of art, for our body and to convey our message. Culture therefore becomes our skin”. And he continued: “Italy is a unique land in the world because its landscape is so permeated by art that the idea of culture becomes accessible to anyone, in a dynamic of even immediate fruition”. In presenting the young stylists, the Head of Editorial Content of Vogue Italia and the philosopher agreed in understanding the specificity of the change proposed by the young stylists: it is not simply a question of a generational change. Indeed, the revolution in communication has changed the paradigm: new voices, new ideas can emerge in a more democratic way than in the past, attracting the attention of a very large audience.
Coccia, commenting on the exhibition, declared that what these concoct designers are “future ways of being”, “psychic divination tools”.
“Clothes are demons: spirits, characters, forms of the ego, who are waiting for nothing more than to enter our bodies to make us live their destiny for a moment. If we cannot do without these spells it is because we need their power to understand who we are”,Emanuele Coccia writes in the exhibition catalogue: a perfect synthesis of the meaning of the Fashion Panorama project.
The following day, the trip to Tirana was enriched by the meeting with Edi Rama, Prime Minister of Albania, whose office is located in the same building that houses the COD, Center for Openness and Dialogue, where the Fashion Panorama exhibition can be visited until June 2nd. The meeting with Edi Rama was a truly precious moment for the designers involved in the project, who on the occasion of this meeting were able to present their collections and their brand to the Prime Minister, who is also an artist and to whom we owe an important commitment to the creative transformation of communist-era buildings, thanks also to the involvement of artists such as Olafur Eliasson and Anri Sala and the Green project, which led to the creation of 96,700 square meters of green land and the planting of about 1,800 trees in Tirana. Edi Rama opened the doors of his office for the Italian stylists of the Fashion Panorama project, where some of his works are also exhibited, and with them he discussed topics of politics, youth and culture, discussing future projects related to the world of art and fashion: a truly important opportunity for dialogue and comparison”, Cristina Lovat writes.
The exhibition was created with the intention of giving a voice and visibility to the new generation of Italian stylists and showcasing their vision and work all over the world. Fashion Panorama will remain on display until Friday, June 2 and will see new international openings for the next two years.
