Premiere of “Hekuba” at the theater “Migjeni”/ The play touches on the wound of emigration in Albanian society

The premiere of “Hekuba” directed by Enke Fezollari was shown on May 6th at the “Migjeni” theater. The well-known actress Vefi Redhi, who has been living in Athens for years, as well as the actor Adem Karaga, simultaneously the director of the Albanian Theater of Skopje, were added to the performance of the professional actors of the Shkodra theater troupe.
Thanks to the directorial skills, “Hecuba” based on the work of Euripides and translated into Albanian by Eleana Zhako came as an adaptation and combination of the tragedy of Greek antiquity with traditional rites of our northern highlands, while part of the costume design was also the ancient jubleta.
In the role of the main protagonist on stage, the actress and director of the theater “Migjeni” Rita Gjeka dwells on the message of the play, which is immigration as a scourge of society.
The play was performed in two languages: Albanian and Greek, while director Enke Fezollari connects this detail with globalism and the country where he has lived for many years, Greece.
