The Central State Film Archive in collaboration with the Idromeno Independent Film Festival and the Woman to Woman organization is preparing the exhibition Idromeno Uncovering.

It is about a photographic exhibition entitled “Woman in the Albanian photographic image – A photographic journey” which reflects the society of different eras in the image.

The exhibition Idromeno Uncovering brings the girls and women who changed the mentality of Albanian cinematography: talented, courageous and inspiring.

During this complex time in the history of Albanian culture, many actresses shone and achieved their popularity despite the control of the dictatorship of the time. Using the latest photographic technology, this exhibition is dedicated to the performance achievements of some of the most beloved actresses of the Albanian screen such as: Roza Anagnosti, Elvira Diamanti, Anisa Markarian and Luiza Xhuvani.

These photographs digitized from original negatives are just a small part of a remarkable collection of the Central State Film Archive Photo Library that is being digitized and preserved for future generations of filmmakers, film scholars, students of photography and art film enthusiasts.

The curators of the exhibition are Erjon Tusha and Central State Film Archive.
