The book “Fuçi Baruti” /Powder Keg/ is promoted, a drama that reveals the similarities between Albanian and North Macedonian culture

The book “Fuçi baruti” /Powder Keg/, by the well-known author Dejan Dukovski, from North Macedonia and translated into Albanian by Milena Selimi, was promoted in Korça.
“Powder Keg” not only unveils the Balkan nature, of the contradiction and absurdity that animates the life of communities and cultures in constant contact with each other.
This text also marks the linguistic transcendence, to get closer to a reality on the similarities and differences between Albanian and North Macedonian culture.
The translator of the book, Milena Selimi says that the main reason why she chose to bring to the Albanian reader this work is that the drama conveys universal messages, and at the same time, the Albanian translation of this play is a call for the theater to convey the socio-political messages of the region through staging it.
Thanks to the cooperation and coordination of the work with the Book and Promotion Institute in Albania, which is part of the READ project, the Regional Network for Cultural Diversity, the “Literary and Cultural Activism” organization made it possible to publish the book of the author Dejan Dukovski in the Albanian language.
The promotion of the book “Powder Keg” was held in the Faculty of Education and Philology at “Fan Noli” University of Korça. This activity was organized within the initiative “Neighbors in front of the mirror”, in implementation of multilingual projects supported by the Regional Network for Cultural Diversity.
