In the city of Gjirokastra, preparations continue for the National Folk Festival, which is expected to take place in June.

Folk artists from all over Albania are expected to perform at the festival.

The first National Folk Festival took place in 1968, in the stone fortress of Gjirokastra. Since then, the festival has been held every five years.

The 70s can also be considered the peak of participation in this festival, where there were more than 1 thousand selected participants.
