Academy of Sciences Marks 75 Years of Albania-China Relations with International Conference

The Academy of Sciences hosted an international scientific conference today, marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Albania and China.

The event was attended by the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Pang Chunxue.

Ambassador Chunxue highlighted that, over the past 75 years, Albania and China have maintained a strong friendship and cooperation across various fields.

“Entering a new era, Albania-China relations have consistently thrived. Exports of agricultural products such as honey and dairy to China have continued to grow. In 2023, both nations signed a mutual visa-free agreement and a memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation, enhancing people-to-people exchanges,” stated the Ambassador.

Chunxue added that from January to September 2024, trade volume between China and Albania reached 839 million USD, reflecting a 2% increase from the same period last year, establishing China as Albania’s second-largest trade partner. Between January and July, 13,000 Chinese tourists visited Albania.

The Chinese representative in Tirana emphasized that the ongoing mission of China’s administration is to promote the healthy and sustainable development of relations between the two countries.
