TIRANA, December 15 – Minister of Agriculture Andis Salla addressed farmers and agricultural entrepreneurs about priorities and planned support for 2026. He highlighted a 16.3 billion Albanian Lekë budget package aimed at strengthening agriculture, livestock, fisheries, agri-processing, and agritourism.

Salla emphasized that supporting farmers and entrepreneurs is key to sustainable rural development and providing quality food for citizens.

He announced that farmers who previously received only 50% of their support will get the remaining amount within this fiscal year. This ensures that every farmer receives the full support entitled to them.

Salla acknowledged the challenges facing the agricultural sector. However, he said that Albanian agriculture now enjoys more institutional support than in previous years.

The new budget also provides support for rural pensions and farmer training programs. These programs, developed with the Agricultural University of Tirana, aim to increase skills and modernize practices across the sector.
