Albania joins NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence in Tallinn

TIRANA, May 15 – Albania has officially joined the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE) in Tallinn, Estonia, marking a new step in its cooperation within NATO’s cyber defence framework.

The accession took place during a flag-raising ceremony at the CCDCOE headquarters, where Albania joined Finland and Sweden. As a result, the number of members and partners in the network increased to 39.

Meanwhile, the CCDCOE, accredited by NATO and established in 2008, operates as a leading international centre for cyber defence research, strategic analysis, professional training and the development of best practices, while also organising “Locked Shields,” the world’s largest and most complex cyber defence exercise.

Against this backdrop, Albania will now gain access to expert exchange, strategic research, training programmes and international exercises, and will also strengthen cooperation with NATO allies and partner institutions in the field of cyber security.

Overall, the membership further consolidates Albania’s position within the international cyber security ecosystem and expands its cooperation with NATO structures and experts in addressing cyber threats.
