The Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, announced today the launch of the public competition for selecting Albania’s official representation at the 61st International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia.

The Biennale will take place from May 9 to November 22, 2026.

The 2026 edition, curated by Koyo Kouoh, is titled “In the Eye of the Storm – Chronicles of the Minor Key.”

Minister Gonxhja stated that the theme offers an invitation to explore silenced narratives, repressed memories, and artistic languages that emerge from the margins. He described it as “a poetic form of resistance and reflection on unrepresented histories.”
