Albania participated for the third time in the World Wine Tasting Championship. The event took place on October 3–4 at the historic Fort des Rousses in the Jura region, France.

Tourism, Culture, and Sports Minister Blendi Gonxhja announced the news. He emphasized that this participation provides an excellent opportunity to promote Albanian wine tourism, culture, and hospitality on the international stage.

Under the leadership of Franco-Albanian sommelier Serxhio Prelashi, Team Albania proudly represented the country’s wine tradition and tourism potential. The team highlighted Albania’s wine destinations and notable wineries.

During the event, Albanian wineries presented authentic products. These wines have earned recognition not only in the domestic market but also internationally. As a result, they serve as concrete examples of the growth of wine tourism in Albania, a sector attracting increasing interest from both local and foreign visitors.

Minister Gonxhja noted that wine tourism is a strategic priority. Moreover, it helps diversify Albania’s tourism offerings and extends the season. Finally, it aligns with the vision of sustainable development while promoting high-value local products.
