Albanian defense minister visits Hungary to strengthen bilateral cooperation

Defense Minister Pirro Vengu paid an official visit to Hungary at the invitation of his Hungarian counterpart, Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky.

The visit began with a solemn ceremony at Heroes’ Square in Budapest. The event, rich in historical symbolism, honored the sacrifice of Albanian and Hungarian Armed Forces. It also reflected the shared values that unite the two nations—freedom, peace, and collective security.

Both sides reaffirmed their joint commitment within the Alliance. They highlighted the close cooperation of Albanian and Hungarian troops serving side by side in key international missions, including NATO Kosovo Force (KFOR) and EUFOR Althea.

The visit confirmed their shared determination to strengthen bilateral defense and security ties. It also underscored their readiness to deepen cooperation for regional and Euro-Atlantic stability.
