Ali Asllani’s Legacy Celebrated Through Poetry and Music at ‘Petro Marko’ Theater in Vlora

The Center for Openness and Dialogue (COD), in collaboration with the Vlora Municipality, organized a poetic evening dedicated to the poet, diplomat, and mayor of the 1920s and 1930s, Ali Asllani.
On the stage of the “Petro Marko” theater, actors Yllka Mujo, Viktor Zhusti, Rozeta Ferri, and Artan Islami performed the lyrical verses of the Vlora-born poet. They were accompanied by the music of Aulon Naçi on piano and a string quartet composed of Dejon Bendaj, Vilson Guri, Albana Kola, Dorina Laro, along with flutist and double-reed player Vendim Kapaj. Soprano Suada Gjergji also participated, and the performances were met with applause from the audience.
The Director of the Center for Openness and Dialogue, Jetona Koçibelli, thanked the artists for their collaboration and for bringing this evening to life, while Mayor Ermal Dredha praised the event as a well-deserved tribute to Ali Asllani.
The event was conceptualized by Rozeta Ferri, under the artistic direction of Driada Dervishi, and inspired by Asllani’s work “Ah ky mall, ky mall i çmendur” (Oh, this longing, this mad longing).
