Art unites Albania and Kosovo; Over 400 works are exhibited at Expocity Albania

Art is the best way to unite a nation. More than 400 works of 100 artists from all over Albania and Kosovo are exhibited in the premises of Expocity for five days from February 23-27.
With the slogan “With humility for the artists”, Expocity Albania, together with the Art Gallery, opened the fair of visual arts “Tirana Art”.
In recent decades, there have been many attempts to create such an event but without success, but now our country has its annual visual arts fair, as “Tirana Art” is the first fair of visual arts in Albania.
The aim of this fair is to bring to the public all the representatives of visual arts operating in the country, as well as to consolidate the tradition for the continuity of the activity.
The opening ceremony started with an innovation, with an auction for three works by great artists such as Guri Madhi, Fatmir Haxhia and Arben Bajo. The auction will be held on the last day of the fair where other paintings will also be sold.
During the opening speech, the director of the Tirana Gallery, Abaz Hado, says that this fair is a historic and well-deserved night for the country’s artists.
“Tirana, where everything is being experienced differently and perceived differently, is creating a different social impact in all aspects, as well as in art, and this is a big event today.
We will continue to fight hard to progress this country because only through art, these artists can compete with Europe. With these initiatives we succeeded, we managed to gather here some of the best artists of the country and this is thanks to Expocity”.
Aulona Hoxha, the executive director of Expocity, said that this event is an important moment for Albanian culture and art, as artists have the opportunity to display their works together for the general public.
She also said that they will continue the tradition of the art fair and hopes that in the next edition there will be representatives from the Balkans.
Genc Përmeti, one of the organizers of the event, says that in this fair a considerable space will be given to the artists of the retroguard, with all the culture and tradition they represent, alongside the more alternative artists who are in the process of challenging the artistic conventions for creating a new artistic dynamic.
Young people, both from our country and from Kosovo, have been offered a special space to exhibit their works in cooperation with the University of Arts.
