The Besa Museum, designed by Oppenheim Architecture, has been honored with the prestigious “Honour Award of Excellence” by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) in Miami. Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation Blendi Gonxhja announced the news, sharing images of the museum on social media.

“This prestigious award places the Besa Museum among the highest ranks in the world of architecture,” the minister remarked.

Oppenheim Architecture has meticulously crafted each design element to reflect the essence of “Besa” and the invaluable Albanian traditions passed down through generations, providing a golden window into Albanian identity.

Set to become a new cultural destination, the museum will offer visitors an insightful look into Albania’s heroic history in protecting Jews during World War II. It will be housed in the historic “House of the Libohovit Family,” a Category I Cultural Monument located next to the Tirana Castle and the Toptani Sarajet.
