The Ukrainian Embassy in Tirana hosted the promotion of the book “My Father – Leonid Zhabotinsky” today.

The book, written by Ruslan Zhabotinsky, is now available in Albanian. Agron Haxhihyseni, former Secretary General of the Albanian Weightlifting Federation, translated it.

The book tells the life and career of Leonid Zhabotinsky. He was a world-renowned weightlifting legend. He won two Olympic gold medals. Between 1963 and 1974, he set 19 world records. Zhabotinsky was born in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, recently affected by war and Russian attacks.

During the event, attendees connected online with his son, Ruslan Zhabotinsky. Ukrainian athletes also joined at the embassy.

Translator Agron Haxhihyseni is a multiple European medalist and national weightlifting record holder. He is also an author and sports translator.
