British “Express”: Ksamil, the “Maldives of Europe,” just four hours from the UK

Ksamil, a small coastal village in southern Albania, lies only four hours from the United Kingdom. Known for its stunning beaches, it has earned the nickname “the Maldives of Europe,” where visitors enjoy the scenic views, writes British newspaper “Express”.
The village is located along the Ionian Sea, about 15 kilometers south of Sarandë and near the Greek island of Corfu. It is part of Butrint National Park, a UNESCO-protected area, with the sea to the west and a lake to the east.
A TikTok account @saranda_events shared a video of Ksamil’s crystal-clear beaches, describing it as “a true gem of Europe” with “amazing beaches and vibrant culture.” Comments called it “the most beautiful place in the world” and noted that Ksamil can surpass the Maldives.
A popular local beach, Lori, was described on Tripadvisor as “a wonderful sandy beach, perfect for relaxing or having fun,” with a bar serving drinks.
“Sunshine Seeker” recommended visiting Ksamil during the short seasons from May to June or late September to early October, when the weather is warm and the sea is ideal for swimming.
For travelers planning holidays in 2026, Ksamil is a destination worth considering.
