Zef Jubani, folklorist, writer, economist, ideologue of the National Renaissance, passed away on February 1, 1880. He was born in Shkodër in 1818. In 1857 he founded the organization called “Auxiliary Society” in Shkodër. He collaborated in the organization of the anti-Turkish movement of Mirdita. Zef Jubani has published the books “Compendium of folk songs and rhapsody of Albanian poems”, “Project of navigation with Italian steamboats in the Adriatic”, translated from Turkish “Code of the appendix of the Ottoman commercial procedure”. Many of Zef Juban’s writings remained unpublished manuscripts, among them “The History of George Castriot Scanderbeg”.

On February 1, 1925, the first Republican Cabinet was created, headed by Ahmet Zogu, with a lifespan of 8 months until September 23, 1925. The change in the form of the regime brought about the creation of a new government cabinet. The new status of the state recognized the right of the President of the Republic to form the government. The president did not go to every government meeting, except on important occasions. His role in leading the meetings but also in the main affairs was covered by the Minister of Justice. In this function, Petro Poga was in the first republican cabinet.

February 1, 1933 – The weekly magazine for children and young people “Vatra e rinia” was published. It continued intermittently until 1939 and was directed by Vasil Xhaçka.

The Commission for drafting the draft statute of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania met on February 1, 1950. The rights and duties of the Orthodox Committee of Albania were defined in general terms, which should be followed in the framework of the new course of the communist regime that was established in Albania.

February 1, 1990 – Yugoslavia sent troops, tanks and planes to the province of Kosovo, where police were fighting ethnic Albanians demanding political reform.

By order of the Minister of Defense, on February 1, 1992, the Military Police branch was created for the first time at the General Headquarters of the Armed Forces.

Convention for the Protection of National Minorities, drawn up by the Council of Europe was signed on February 1, 1995.
