On the 5th day of the Tirana International Film Festival, the film Xoftex, a 2024 production by Argentine director Noaz Deshe, was screened as part of the PerspecTIFF section.

The film, a Franco-German production, addresses the theme of immigration but in an entirely unconventional manner compared to other films on the same subject.

Xoftex tells the story of Nasser and his friends, who begin filming satirical sketches and preparing a zombie horror film while awaiting their immigration interviews.

The reality of the refugee camp itself resembles a horror scenario, with increasing tension and conflicts that blur the dreams and anxieties of the protagonists.

Another significant TIFF event took place in the evening at the Agimi Cinema, featuring Alessandro Blasetti’s film Io, io, io…e gli altri, starring the renowned Marcello Mastroianni. The film is part of the RetrospecTIFF section, presented at the festival as a tribute to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Italian cinema giant.
