A contract was signed in Butrint between the Foundation for the Management of Butrint and the Japanese studio, which was declared the winner of the international competition for the architectural project of the visitor center, Kengo Kuma & Associates.
“This contract opens a new page in the history of Butrint National Park, returning the dignity to its entrance gate and guiding the visitor towards a world treasure”, said the Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti, who was present during signing ceremony in the ancient city of Butrint.
Merged with nature and in full respect with it, the Visitor Center in Butrint will serve visitors, artisans and the local community. It will be in a position of 1.5 kilometers from the current entrance of the park and is conceived by the Japanese architect as a bridge between heritage and nature.
