Council of Ministers Approves “CulturAlb” Foundation to Promote Albanian Culture

The Council of Ministers authorized the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sports to establish the foundation “CulturAlb.” This new initiative aims to promote and develop Albanian cultural heritage at home and abroad.
The foundation will preserve, produce, exhibit, promote, market, and sell souvenirs and other artistic products. It will also promote Albania’s tangible cultural heritage. The foundation can carry out other activities defined in its statute and founding act.
The founding act and statute will be approved in court, according to nonprofit legislation for organizations serving the public interest.
The government intends to create a new institutional tool to support creative industries and strengthen the promotion of Albanian cultural identity nationally and internationally.
The decision takes effect after publication in the Official Gazette.
“CulturAlb” is a government initiative that will bring Albanian culture to cities worldwide. The program includes exhibitions, performances, discussions, and more.
These cultural events will feature ethnography, cinema, literature, photography, music, design, and history. Albanian art will travel to Greece, Hungary, Italy, Germany, Spain, England, Switzerland, the USA, and other countries.
