Cultural Dialogue and Performing Arts Series to Launch at ArtTurbina on October 17

Blendi Gonxhja, Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation, announced that a series of meetings focused on Cultural Dialogue and Performing Arts will begin on October 17 at the “Central” hall in ArtTurbina. The event is co-organized by the Ministry of Economy, Culture, and Innovation (MEKI) and United Nations Association Albania, with the aim of integrating artists’ voices into the decision-making process for cultural policies.

The meetings will address challenges and explore new perspectives for the growth of theater and the performing arts.

“This gathering will bring together actors, directors, playwrights, set designers, and other stage professionals to discuss the difficulties in staging productions, financing theatrical projects, the lack of infrastructure, and the vital role of arts education in shaping the next generation of artists. Additionally, we will focus on the need for institutional support and strategies to promote Albanian theater on the international stage,” Gonxhja shared in his post.

He further noted that “this meeting presents a crucial opportunity to discuss key issues such as financial backing for the arts, the role of criticism in elevating artistic standards, and avenues for fostering international partnerships.”

MEKI concluded the announcement with a call for artists, directors, actors, and playwrights to attend the event, emphasizing that “your voice is critical to shaping policies that will drive the development of the theater and performing arts sector.”
