Farmers are planting rice in the fields of Zadrima.

Altin Prenga, one of the pioneers of agritourism in Albania, even though he failed to plant this crop a year ago, he planted his land again this year to convey an appeal to all farmers in the country not to leave their farming lands unplanted.

“Last year we failed with rice due to lack of water, although the field of Zadrima is located below the hydropower plant of Fierza, Koman and Vau Deja. Though we thought not to plant it anymore, but our friend professor Filip Haxhari called us and said you should plant it, because barren agricultural lands are a shame. He took the plane yesterday, and although he is a geneticist who runs a research institute with 35 scientists, he rolled up his sleeves and side by side we planted black rice, inside the eagle, and classic rice outside. Now we are waiting for the yields of this year,” writes Altin.
