The young Albanian director Erenik Beqiri shared the happy news that his film “A Short Journey” has been officially selected for the 80th edition of the Venice Film Festival.

“Excited to announce that our short film has been officially selected for the 80th edition of the Venice Film Festival, in the Orizzonti section. It is a great honor to be part of such a prestigious cinematographic event”, Erenik Beqiri writes on social networks.

His film competes together with 12 other films in the category “Orizzonti Cortometragio” dedicated to films that represent new aesthetic and expressive trends of world cinematography, with a focus on new talents and lesser known cinematographers.

In fact, the Albanian director’s film is a French production. After thanking the entire cast of the film, director Beqiri also thanked the French Embassy in Tirana for their support.

“A heartfelt thank you to all those who made this possible and stood by, especially to the talented cast and crew, without whom this film would not have been possible”,  the director, who with another work was also a competitor at the “Oscars”writes.
