Ethnographic Museum of Kruja under restoration/ Margariti: Colorful paintings in the Ethnographic Museum of Kruja are coming to light

Ethnographic Museum of Kruja is included in the EU4CULTURE program. The minister of Culture Margariti said that the paintings of this Museum are coming to light.

“From day to day, the colorful paintings in the Ethnographic Museum of Kruja are coming to light.
With the invaluable support of the conservation team from the Conservation Institute at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, alongside the specialists engaged in the restoration and revival process of this monument, included in the EU4Culture Program, the finer works are being carried out in a from the most visited museums in Kruja. Work is currently underway on final clean-up, preservation of artifacts, and installation of displays. Very soon this museum will be presented to the public, completely renovated, with a new and modern concept,” writes Margariti on social networks, facebook.

The Ethnographic Museum of Kruja offers everything for those who have the curiosity to see how the centuries collide with each other in popular culture. Built during the 700s, this museum has been rated as one of the most unique residences in the Balkans. A three-storied white building with a central tower, open on both sides with elaborately carved large and small windows and exterior staircases in the style of old houses, this building is a work of art which radiates a 300-year-old warmth. The museum is located in the fortified courtyard of the Kruja Castle and around the museum, traces of water sources or kroje can be seen, which prove that the name of the city of Kruja comes from this natural wealth.
