The EU Ambassador to Albania, Silvio Gonzato, met today with the new Chair of the Constitutional Court, Fiona Papajorgji.

During the meeting, Gonzato reaffirmed the EU’s support for the rule of law in Albania.
He stressed the key role of the Constitutional Court in protecting citizens’ rights.

Gonzato said the Court now works with stability and efficiency.
He noted that two vacant positions will be filled soon.
He underlined the importance of quality, transparency, and independence as the highest judicial institution in the country.

The ambassador also confirmed plans to include the Court in future EU projects.
He pledged support to align Albanian judicial practice with EU law.

Gonzato said cooperation with the entire justice system is essential for European integration.
He described the Constitutional Court as a key partner in this process.
