Since January 2024, the film digitization studio at the Central State Film Archive (AQSHF) has scanned 330 film titles and over 4,620 reels of image and sound. It has created high-quality digital assets.

This is the first time Albania has a modern film digitization studio. The European Union funded the project through the EU4Culture program, implemented by UNOPS.

The new studio at AQSHF is transforming how Albania preserves, restores, and shares its film heritage. AQSHF aims to digitize its entire collection of 4,330 Albanian film works.

The Ministry of Economy, Culture, and Innovation stated its full commitment to strengthening AQSHF’s technical and human capacities. This will ensure the preservation and promotion of this valuable national treasure.
