Euronews: Albania 2026, from Riviera to Alps, a rising destination

TIRANA, April 22 – Albania is emerging as a growing travel destination for 2026, according to Euronews. The country offers a mix of coastline, mountain landscapes, and expanding tourism infrastructure. The report highlights increased hotel investment and easier access rules for some visitors.

Tourism in Albania has grown steadily in recent years. Euronews links this trend to affordable prices, a long coastline, and historic cities. It also notes rising regional competitiveness as major European destinations face overtourism pressures.

Tirana is presented as a fast-changing capital with diverse architectural layers. The Albanian Riviera is described as a key coastal area with beaches, hidden bays, and natural sites such as the Blue Eye and Llogara National Park. The Albanian Alps are highlighted as a quieter alternative with hiking routes and traditional villages including Theth and Valbona.

Euronews also points to new tourism infrastructure, including luxury hotel developments in the Riviera, Durrës, and Tirana. It notes planned projects such as the Vlora International Airport, expected to improve access to the south. Albania remains accessible visa-free for short stays for many European travellers.
