Experimental Theatre Brings “The Father” to Life in Tirana

Florian Zeller’s acclaimed drama, “The Father” (Le Père), comes to the Experimental National Theatre “Kujtim Spahivogli” in Tirana. The play tells the tragic story of André, an elderly man struggling with dementia. He fights to understand a confusing and disorienting reality.
The cast brings the story to life. Viktor Zhusti, Egla Cenos, Pjerin Vlash, Linda Jarani, and Adriana Tolkas perform André and his family members. Their interpretations make the audience feel the fragility of memory and human connection.
The play explores universal themes. It shows aging, dementia, and the delicate bond between father and daughter. It highlights love, care, and the dignity that tries to survive. Even in the darkness of forgetting, love remains a guiding light.
Erson Zymberi directs the production. Bekim Korça handles scenography, Sofi Kara designs costumes, and Mariel Brahimllari manages choreography. The play runs nightly at ArTurbina until October 12.
Florian Zeller, a French playwright and director, gained international recognition for his works. “The Father” became a film directed by Zeller and won two Oscars. Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Colman earned awards for their performances.
This performance offers Tirana audiences a chance to experience a moving story on memory, life, and love.
