Following its success at the Venice Film Festival, Jim Jarmusch’s film “Family” will screen at the Tirana International Film Festival.

Tirana will be the second city in the world to show the Golden Lion-winning film at the 2025 Venice International Film Festival. The film, originally titled “Father, Mother, Sister, Brother,” will open the 23rd edition of TIFF on September 21.

Officials said this is a major event for cinema enthusiasts and fans of Jarmusch’s work. The film will also be screened on the evening of September 23, with tickets available for the public.

The festival will run from September 21 to 27. Selected films will qualify for the Academy Awards and European Film Awards. Officials added that student films chosen officially for TIFF can compete for the Student Academy Awards (SAA).

TIFF has been part of the 110 most important film festivals globally since 2013. Officials noted that the event receives close attention online and in person from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
