The Albanian Football Federation (FSHF) has approved the new regulation for the “Final 4” phase of the Superior League. The Executive Committee made the decision after a consultative meeting with club leaders, most of whom supported the proposal.

The changes will apply starting from the 2025–2026 season.

The new format keeps the regular season with four rounds, home and away. After 36 weeks, the top four teams qualify for the “Final 4.”

The points each team earned during the regular season will be halved in this phase, rounding down to the nearest whole number.

According to the FSHF, the “Final 4” will consist of six matches, with this schedule:

Week 1

1st vs 4th

2nd vs 3rd

Week 2

1st vs 3rd

2nd vs 4th

Week 3

1st vs 2nd

3rd vs 4th

All matches will take place at the “Air Albania” stadium in Tirana.

The “Final 4” standings will decide the teams that qualify for European competitions.

Meanwhile, the 9th and 10th place teams from the Superior League will be relegated. The 8th place team will enter a play-out.

In case of a tie in points during the “Final 4,” the ranking will follow these criteria:

– Points in direct matches during the season and Final 4

– Goal difference in direct matches

– Overall goal difference across the season (including Final 4)
