Germany Awards 2024, Ermonela Jaho won the best singer price at the Oper

Ermonela Jaho received the top prize at ‘The Oper’, in Germany Awards 2024 for her extraordinary performance.
Oper Magazin announced “Best Female Singer: Ermonela Jaho. It is well-known that a career in opera demands more than just a beautiful voice. It’s also rare for an artist to unveil their inner self to the public through both singing and acting simultaneously. At the Zurich Opera in 2023, Ermonela Jaho created a moving and exhilarating opera evening with profound depth in her portrayal of the brilliant Magda from Puccini’s ‘La rondine’: a trilling swallow and a dying swan in one.”
In Zurich, in 2023, Puccini’s ‘La rondine’ transformed into a night of profound and emotional depth under the interpretation of Ermonela Jaho. Her portrayal of Magda as both a singing swallow and a swan in agony earned her the award last night.
The Albanian soprano herself expressed, through a post on social networks, that both the award received in Spain and the German award were a pleasant surprise.
Jaho stated “First Spain, and now Germany with this unexpected award! I will try to put in words my gratitude and what this achievement means to me, but it would be impossible. I feel proud to even be amongst the nominees, let alone be awarded Winner for Female singer 2024. Thank you OPER! AWARDS for this huge honor. A big thank you to my wonderful colleagues, to the amazing public for giving me their love and appreciation, and to every loved one who has supported my journey. Music needs to tell a story by inspiring the audience, and there is no greater achievement than connecting with every single heart that listens!”
A few days ago, Ermonela also secured the ‘Best Foreign Artist’ award for 2023, recognized for her performance in ‘Suor Angelica’ in Barcelona.
