“Gjon Mili, Jazz&Blues” festival in Tirana and Korca

“Gjon Mili, Jazz&Blues” festival started in Tirana on July 12 and will continue until the 15th of July. The performances on the 12th and 13th took place at the Reja Installation in the capital, while on July 15 it will be held in Korça.

“Gjon Mili Jazz & Blues Festival” aims to promote the figure of Gjon Mili, as the only connecting bridge that the Albanian nation has with Jazz music in its golden period, making it part of the Cultural and Artistic Heritage of Albania.

The development of the festival aims to promote artistic activity and creativity in Jazz and Blues music, motivating young Albanian musicians through artistic-cultural exchange with experienced national and international musicians.

Albanian artist Gjon Mili, as a master and innovator of photography has contributed to all social and cultural fields in the United States and, therefore, around the world. As an amateur musician (he played the oboe), he had a special connection with Jazz music and managed to document the transition between its two most important periods, the Singing Era and Modern Jazz.
